A little about me…
I’m a deliberately vague 40-something from the Midlands in the UK. I’m a serial hobbyist keen to try most things, but photography, travel, food, motorcycles and a desire to fix most things have been constant threads throughout my life — ebbing and flowing in intensity but always there.
I was always a little distracted throughout my school years. I can't really say much has changed since! Competent in most things but motivationally challenged, the one subject I did find some success in was art.
My lasting memory from those school years is the parting words of my teacher, Miss Gough: “Never stop being an artist!”
I really can’t say I’ve delivered on her request until now. My professional career led me to engineering, which is probably as far away as one can get from art.
Beyond that, I’ve always been one for the outdoors, travel and wildlife — these are the things that bring me joy. It’s only natural that they became my main subjects.
I hope you enjoy the site; I’m just glad I haven’t let my high school teacher down. I owe her that.
