RUNDE - A Limited Edition Print
“RUNDE” is a limited edition print of the scene we were presented with following our hunt for puffins on the island of Runde.
We’d read the guide as saying there was a 13 minute walk to the puffins at Runde, Norway, so had planned only a short stop. Excited at the opportunity, we gleefully set off despite the weather. About 20 minutes into our 13 minute walk we realised the 13 had referred to the time to walk to the start of the trail from the carpark.
We spent the next hour and a half in pretty brutal weather conditions. Cold, wet and extremely windy. We did get to see puffins but at quite a distance. It only served to endorse how hardy these handsom little birds are. Spending much of their lives out at sea and nesting in what we’d percieve to be the most hostile of conditions. We salute you Mr & Mrs Puffin.
The silver lining to our weather beating was this view of the coastline as we returned to the comfort of our converted van and a brew.
