I challenge anyone to retain control of their lower jaw on first sight of a humming bird. To my knowledge, there are no European humming birds. Confirmed - though there is a rip off moth.
They move through the air with the speed and manoeuvrability of an insect but with the flamboyance and grace of a bird.
From a photographers perspective they also pose a delightful challenge. Firstly catching them in shot and then to try and capture them in focus. Whilst it took some practice, this is one of two that i think did them justice.
