“ASGARD” is a limited edition print of an image taken in Norway during the european leg of our 2025 road trip in which we plan to visit 25 countries on 3 continents.
Driving Norway, as many people will know, is incredibly rewarding. With the West coast formed of fragmented towering rock formations splintered by fjords it doesn’t lend itself to easy passage yet the Norwegian gift for innovation and engineering sees the introduction of some of the world’s most spectacular bridges, tunnels and electric ferry crossings.
As we approached this particular bridge i was struck my its imposing towers as they reached up into the cloud. It plucked out memories from fantasy film and TV like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, hence the title Asgard, a place from Norse legend to where this bridge may have led.

FJAERLAND - A limited Edition Print
“FJAERLAND” is a limited edition print of an image taken during our one night stay here. As i write this, my partner Lucy and I are travelling for 9 months. We have quite the trip planned and the budget is lean so we’re having weekly budget reviews to see that we’re on track… I digress. The point is that when we arrived here in Fjaerland and saw this little floating sauna on the Fjord, we couldn’t resist!
After checking in with the bank and agreeing that we could stretch to £13 each for an hour, we booked our slot and had the most incredible experience. There’s a lot about travel (be it in a converted van or otherwise) that isn’t glam but this felt like a moment of pure indulgence.
For an hour we moved back and forth, stress melting out of us in the heat whilst taking in the epic scenery and then plunging into the Fjord for instant rejuvenation and a little brain freeze.
We will never, ever forget this place.

RUNDE - A Limited Edition Print
“RUNDE” is a limited edition print of the scene we were presented with following our hunt for puffins on the island of Runde.
We’d read the guide as saying there was a 13 minute walk to the puffins at Runde, Norway, so had planned only a short stop. Excited at the opportunity, we gleefully set off despite the weather. About 20 minutes into our 13 minute walk we realised the 13 had referred to the time to walk to the start of the trail from the carpark.
We spent the next hour and a half in pretty brutal weather conditions. Cold, wet and extremely windy. We did get to see puffins but at quite a distance. It only served to endorse how hardy these handsome little birds are. Spending much of their lives out at sea and nesting in what we’d perceive to be the most hostile of conditions. We salute you Mr & Mrs Puffin.
The silver lining to our weather beating was this view of the coastline as we returned to the comfort of our converted van and a brew.

We took this route into Kristiansund knowing that it was going to be unforgettable. This roller coaster of a road links the dozens of small islands together and makes for one of the most entertaining drives of the trip.

CONTEMPLATION - A Limited Edition Print
“CONTEMPLATION” is a limited edition print of an image that i took one evening at a marina in a town called Sunndalsora, Norway. Shadowed by an aluminium manufacturing plant, this somewhat industrial town had its own beauty.
The day had been pretty wet throughout and then just as evening came (and i use the term evening loosely because the sun wasn’t setting until after 11pm) the wind died, the rain stopped and it was as thought the whole place breathed a sigh of relief.
This simple little boat sat in such a grand backdrop of snow capped mountains and in it’s still waters appeared humble and contemplative, as though any minute it might speak some profound wisdom that should’ve been so obvious all along.
It might seem quite mad but i like taking these photographs because they take me back to these moments and the runaway train on which my thoughts had escaped. I hope that in sharing them, it brings the image to life in the way it presented itself to me.

ISOLATION - A Limited Edition Print
“ISOLATION” is a limited edition landscape print of an image take during one of the many ferry trips through Norway. The figure of a house seemingly marooned on its own little island struck me as being comforting as it would be disconcerting.
It made me reflect on how personally i love my own company. I’m an introvert through and through, but i also need people in my life. It would be empty without them. It’s all about balance and i can easily fall into the mindset that i don’t need people. Maybe it feels stronger to be that independent, but everybody needs somebody.

We were there early in the season so the temptation of a jetty into the blue was almost equal to the fear of the temperature (or lack of it)!
